Tagging Supplies

Here is a comprehensive list of what you need in order to start tagging:

  1. Starbucks White Mocha. I’m not sure why, but it makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
  2. Hangers- IMPORTANT! Posh Baby uses METAL HANGERS only. Plastic hangers can lead to bunching on the racks, and bunched clothing DOES NOT SELL.* See below for hanger resources.*
  3. White (or ivory) cardstock . You MUST print your tags on cardstock and it MUST be white or ivory. Our scanners cannot read barcodes on colors other than white or ivory. We will not accept items tagged on paper. Paper tears and tags get lost.  Items without tags cannot be sold, so you see why this is important. You could opt to have your tags sent in to a local printing place (like Kinkos) for printing. If that is your preference, proceed to item #4.
  4. Single Hole Punch – Not a necessity, but a punch in the top center of your tag makes attaching them so much easier.
  5. Safety Pins – In varying sizes, for attachment of tags to hangers, and clothing to clothing.  You may also purchase and use a tagging gun to attach your tags to your clothing, although we do not require it.  Tag guns and supplies can be purchased through Amazon.com or similar sites for less than $10.00.
  6. Clear Packing Tape – To attach tags to equipment, shoes, strollers, etc., and to seal any Ziplock bags. Do not use Scotch tape.
  7. Rubber Bands– Once you have prepared and tagged your clothing, band same gender/sizes together. It will cut your check-in time dramatically!
  8. Ziplock bags (in varying sizes) – To group small items (such as socks or accessories) together.

* Hanger Resources: This is what our consignors have told us:

"I wanted to share how I got over 400 metal hangers for FREE! From a Yahoo-group site called “Freecycle.” These are available in every city and you simply post your request for wire hangers and people who dry clean things like UNIFORMS all the time have tons they’re dying to give away! Just thought I’d share."

-Stephanie

"I walked into any dry cleaners in the area (every Albano around!) And was handed a stack of hangers free of charge."

-Debb

We were also told that just by posting a request for metal hangers on Craigslist, people respond with boxes of them!

Zoots Cleaners were also very helpful to our consignors.
